Activity model for inquiry and candle experiment process.

First we formed our question since the thing we are looking into really has no solution, but simply answers a question. We also articulated our expectation and concluded that by cutting doff the candles access to oxygen   pressure build up and the water level would increase in the container. We figured that size of the candle would cause a noticeable difference in the water level in the container, the bigger the candle the more water would flow into the container.
As we began the experiment we discovered that yes, the water level increased with the different size of candles but, the water levels did indeed rise when the candle was cut off from oxygen but not as much as we had hoped. We reflected on our finding and discussed what we could change to make the water level rise. We decided that change the actual container size to a small one then the water levels would rises much more.We reflected on our finding and decided we wanted to know what would happen to the water level if we changed its density by adding things like salt, corn starch, canola oil, and coke.

Pendulum

We began trying to make a yo-yo but we discovered the device had to be self  sufficient . So we decided to make a pendulum. We soon realized that this was not possible because the bean couldn't swing in a circle this being discover we renamed our pendulum a swing. our device consist of paper in the shape of a triangular post that we then hung a paper clip on the top of the post and attached sting. At the end of the sting we attached another paper clip and we taped two beans to a small piece of paper. In order to get the device to move we had someone lift the paper clipped bean to give it a downward momentum. Thus our swing was created. Our device was somewhat successful but not recommended.
